Weekend Ahead

— posted at June 19th, 2003 by zaaba in Blog

Oh alright… seems that when you’re back home, work isn’t as easily cut out for you after all. Expect a few (expected LOL) delays in the site upgrade. You’ve got ppl to see, places to go, things to buy and best of all… great food to eat. Actually, I take back what I had to say earlier about Streamyx. It’s QUITE OK ler… in the mornings. At nightime, that’s when it REALLY suxxorz.

I won’t be around this weekend cuz I’ll be heading up north to Kuala Kangsar with me dad. We’re Malay College old boys and the OB weekend’s taking place… call it a “pilgrimage” if you want. Big cars, small cars and big bikes will be in dozens this weekend to wake up that sleepy old town. Now to get some kickass Pau and Wan Tan Hoe

Oh, and enjoy your prom Lucas. Hope it goes well. Don’t get too stoned this year like you did last year LOL! We had to virtually drag you (read: babysit) up the hotel floor after you lay down on the hotel driveway… that was NOT fun.

Will the REAL number 7 please stand up?

Sorry to all die hard Becks and man Utd fans out there at the news yesterday the Man utd would sell their hairband wearing, corn row sporting right winger for a hefty sum of 35 million quid to spanish giants, Real madrid. For me, i am glad to see him go! sorry but yes i am a united fan, yes i do admit, its cool that he bends it like Beckham, but ive been waiting for United to sell him for ages… Ive hoped he’d go to Spain so as to show the world, playing with the big guns, he aint such a world class player after all.

Furthermore, he is worth more than 35 million, and well he cant wear his number 7, therefore he opts for number 77 instead, looks like he’ll have to tattoo another 7 beside the existing one! ahhaha

united can play solskjaer on the right, and scholes or forlan up front with Ruud, so no big loss…. The Midfield is still strong, so why complain, make do with what you have, and well Man Utd still has a lot!

Internet Yang Lembab

td.com will be on a temporary hiatus due to incredibly slow internet speeds. Streamyx = broadband my ass. At night, it slows down to a snails’ pace! Imagine getting speeds like what, 0.1kbps? That’s pathetic innit. I mean, siput pon lagi laju ah… The only time when it’s a bit ok is during the mornings/afternoons.

Anyway, look forward to a couple of new changes to this website very soon. We’re currently undergoing some changes with the CMS system and site architecture. Can anybody say WordPress and CSS Validation? Heh!

As for where td.commers are right now, we’re back home in sunny, el cheapo, good-food home. The land of warm sandy beaches with cocktails and little straw hats.

Anybody out for a mamak break in Taman Tun? Heh!

Another Sort of Race

Hello again… Exams end in a week’s time. I really wonder who on earth was it behind the whole “lets put first year law student’s exams right at the end” plan. I’d like to give him/her a nice kick. And probably tell him/her to take a long walk off a short pier too after I’m done.

I hope that the last photo leaves many of you GT freaks with an adequate solution to the long and boring tracks. Believe me it really is quite effective. It kills your mileage though… and your HP in the process. Already my Escudo is clocking 1000+ kilometres due to my rubber-band stunt. But it was worth it though. In the end, I netted myself over 1,000,000 to cover my modal (capital) on the Escudo, 3 Corvettes, 1 Pink Ford Focus(?) Rally Car and ONE FORMULA ONE CAR! Woot!

And GT4 is coming out soon too! DOUBLE WOOT!

On the subject of a different sort of race, Kerol has written a brilliant piece on the subject of race in Malaysia. Here’s the link. You might want to pay him a visit.

Click on more on my reply to his article. It’s not deep… but the article did a successful job at making me think hard enough to warrant me to whip up a quick reply.

GT3 with minimal effort

— posted at June 1st, 2003 by zaaba in Blog

As the days pass me by while reading and mugging(!) in my room, things get pretty monotonous and boring. I blame my silly uni who decided to put first year law papers right at the very end of the examination period. I cannot wait until 12.15pm on Wednesday 11 June arrives…

Anyway, I was feeling that I needed a break, so I turned on me trusty PS2 to finish up a couple of tracks on GT3. I got bored with the really long tracks though like the Super Speedway and Test Course so I decided employed the so-called, failsafe method.

I bought a 1,000,000 Cr Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak Version, slapped on a 4th Stage Turbo, pumping up it’s HP to 1700hp++; tied rubberbands on the “X” button and away it went. Here’s the link to the photo if it’s not there on the photoblog.

Whee…
